SAMSARA This is a commissioned work for the branding of a conference in NYC on the "Advances in Meditation Research: Neuroscience and Clinical Applications". The medical symbol, the caduceus, aka the winged staff of hermes each wing represents a hemisphere of the brain, the staff represents the sushumna. The node at the top of the staff represents the 3rd eye ( pineal gland ). The the 2 snakes (cords) represent the ida and pingala. The 2 aspects of self - masculine/feminine. "The brain is depicted in two colors (representing female and male/left and right/nourishment and creation" The shape of a city structure to the left of the meditating yogi is NYC, the busy, vast concrete of this World in which we try to exist and detach at the same time as we meditate. Again the divine shield meditation description explains how we connect to the universal field. The cupped hand implies a listening to and connecting with the universal mind and mother earth through the seed sound, ma. The kriya balances projection and perception, sympathetic & parasympathetic...strengthening intuition, attaining meditative mindfulness, and developing attunement. You are literally tuning yourself with the resonance of your own voice lubricating your nervous system with divine love, radiating from the center of your being. the cupped hand impies listening, implies humility, compassion, and curiosity. And curiosity is the leading vector for evolution. And that is the end(less) goal.
